WORK PLACEMENT STUDENTS TEAMED UP WITH DHL UK FOUNDATION TO INSPIRE STUDENTS ABOUT THE LOGISTICS INDUSTRY:
Across 2017 the DHL Supply Chain Work Placement Students teamed up with the DHL UK Foundation to inspire students about the logistics industry. All of the activities align with Deutsche Post DHL’s Global GoTeach programme, supporting the education and employability of young people around the world.
Two teams of Work Placement Students took part in GoTeach activities, the first group five DHL Work Placement Students delivered an ‘Introduction to Logistics’ Assembly to over 100 Year 10 students at the Springwest Academy in West London on 5th May 2017. The Assembly inspired the students about career opportunities in the logistics and introduced DHL as an essential part of everyday life.
The Assembly was followed up with Employability Workshops delivered to 60 of the students - the Workshops focused on helping the students develop transferable employability skills - like communication, teamwork and problem solving through Logistics related activities.
Alex Pett, Vice Principal, Springwest Academy said:
“A huge thank you to DHL - we have all been very impressed by your team and the quality of presentation and activity that was put forward. You were engaging and pitched at exactly the right level to hook the students in. I honestly cannot praise you highly enough for what you delivered.”
